GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD - JUNE 2011

Verse for the month: 'In the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water' - Isaiah 35:6, 7.

Verses reproduced below from the ESV (version of the Holy Bible):

1, Time, a precious talent (Psalm 90:12)

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

2, A cure for idleness (Romans 12:11)

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

3, God blesses givers (Proverbs 3:9, 10)

Honour the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce;

10) then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.

4, An aroused conscience (1 Cor 15:34)

Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

5, Living for others (Acts 20:35)

In all things I have shown you that by working in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

6, Faithful in little things (Luke 19:17)

"And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.'

7, The source of all life (Ps 36:9)

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.

8, God's watch care (Ps 100:3)

Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

9, The great aim of life (Philippians 3:14)

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

10, One lease of life (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, "I have no pleasure in them";

11, Behind the scenes of life (Isaiah 42:16)

"And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them".

12, Live while you can (Eccl 9:10)

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.

13, Seeking heavenly treasure (Colossians 3:2)

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

14, Contentment (1 Timothy 6:6)

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment,

15, Light in the shadows (Lamentations 3:32, 33)

but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love;

33) for he does not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.

16, The road to happiness (Ps 100:4)

Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name.

17, The proper perspective (Job 4:17)

Can mortal man be in the right before God? Can a man be pure before his maker?

18, Thoughtfulness in the home (1 John 4:12)

No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

19, Sing, and the world sings with you (Ps 40:3)

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

20, The beauties of nature (Ps 111:2-4)

Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.

3) Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever.

4) He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful.

21, Peace and assurance (Isa 32:17)

And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.

22, Now is God's time (2 Cor 6:2)

For he says, "In a favourable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you."

23, Hope everlasting (1 Cor 15:19, 20)

If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

20) But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

24, Kindness the make of a Christian (Prov 31:26)

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

25, Say nothing to wound (1 Peter 3:10,11)

11) let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it".

26, Beyond tomorrow (1 Thessalonians 4:14)

For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

27, Wrongs will be righted (Ps 37:9)

For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.

28, Trust means security (Ps 112:6, 7)

For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever.

7) He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

29, Fear not (Isa 43:1)

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine".

30, When eternal life begins (1 Jn 5:11, 12)

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12) Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
